Thanks for dropping in! To understand my love for computers you'll have to go back to when I used to hang around my dad's office watching him use a keypunch machine. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world! Since then my life has revolved around IT. I built my first computer when I was in my 20’s and have a pretty good understanding of computer hardware components and operating systems. I’ll be dating myself here, but I began dabbling in computers before Windows was mainstream and we only had MS-DOS. I’m a little nerdy, but in the coolest way possible – I tell myself, because I get so nostalgic every time I bring up the CMD shell.
But within the last few years I've become an Apple convert. I really find the security of their product more robust and it’s easier to maintain than the Android or Windows OS. As I get older, I’m pretty comfortable with just “setting it and forgetting it” and Apple does an excellent job with their security updates.
As for my aspirations? I like to think that someday soon I’ll retire to a beach and sip tropical drinks under a palm tree, but truthfully that day won’t come for another ten more years. Still, it’s nice to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Until then, I plan on making the most of my degree in Business Information Systems from Ashford University. I hope that this degree will open up a few more opportunities to lead new innovation projects in my current position so I can finish my career on a high note. For now, I’ll do a countdown until those sea-side tropical drinks. Only 520 more Mondays to go!
